# Photo to Text

> Photo to Text (photototext.ai) is a free online OCR converter that extracts copyable text from photos, screenshots, and PDFs, with optional export to Word or Excel.

Photo to Text offers Simple (fast OCR for clear shots) and Advanced (stronger OCR for hard photos, handwriting, crowded layouts, and tables) modes. It is built for one-off conversions in the browser, not for enterprise document-parse APIs that return custom JSON schemas. Guest conversions do not keep images as account history; signed-in Results can be deleted anytime.
